Mr Mahaluxmivala (pronounced ma-ha-lux-mi-vala) is an experienced knee and hip orthopaedic surgeon based in Harlow, Essex and Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire who specialises in knee and hip joints, including knee and hip replacements, knee replacement revisions, and arthroscopic knee surgery. 

He can provide expert opinion on knee and hip pathologies and uses the most up-to-date, evidence-based procedures with a focus on safety, and helping patients understand the risk-benefit ratio of joint replacement surgery.

Mr Mahaluxmivala performs high volume knee and hip replacement surgery annually. He is committed to delivering a knee and hip service with nationally matched outcome measures with patient satisfaction being paramount to his practice.

As a former national level badminton player, Mr Mahaluxmivala understands the need for joint replacement treatment arising from a sports career. He has also received Clinical Excellence Awards from the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Mr Mahaluxmivala began his orthopaedic training on the Newcastle Registrar Rotation and completed his specialist training in London at the renowned Royal National Orthopedic Hospital, Stanmore.   • Published peer reviewed scientific papers and has been an invited chapter author for the prestigious Oxford Textbook of Surgery.
  • A contributing member of the FRCS Mentor group since its inception and is also actively involved in other online teaching and webinars with a combined live audience of over 2500 surgeons to date.
  • Keenly involved in training surgeons to perform total knee replacement and total hip replacement and has been awarded Trainer of the Year from the Royal London Hospital Rotation.
  • A special interest in patient education and is a surgeon designer for animations for hip and knee replacement surgery. This was done especially to educate patients and help them in understanding their forthcoming surgery. This innovation was shortlisted for the NHS Innovation awards.
